![]() ![]() Amazing tour but never connected with the album. I haven't listened to it as much as I'd like, it's so sad I'm just not in that place in my life right now.īiophilia. The album was one of her first that I would rarely listen to all the way through. Another great tour with a fantastic supporting cast. Im really excited for an eventual b-sides survivor (moar bludbathhh), but we gotta figure out what counts as a b-side. Bit of a slow burn, took me awhile to really appreciate it. Ive been mostly listening to b-sides lately and yeah, all are amazing. The first beats and strings record sounds like a demo tape compared to the perfection of Vespertine. JB-Sides, Columns 30 Year Later: With ‘Debut’, Bjrk Proved She’s A Fearless & Legit Solo Artist By Ryan Dillon No Comments Naming her first solo album simply Debut feels like an intentional misdirect from singer/songwriter Bjrk. Debut was one of the few tapes I brought with me and was the perfect sound track to that trip. I backpacked around Europe for six months in '94, got exposed to rave culture, and was lucky enough to catch her on tour. I'm surprised it's ranked so low on many of the other lists. Matmos, Perkins, the choir from Greenland and a full symphony made for the best concert I have ever been to.ĭebut. My choices are heavily influenced by the tours supporting the albums. Bjork at the peak of her power and her strongest concept album. Debut (It's not bad by any means, but it's quite outdated compared to the rest.Vulnicura (I'm sorry, I've been meaning to give it another listen, but I found most of the songs except Lionsong really didnt stand out to me.Medúlla (Love the a Capella, but I don't usually go back and listen to it much.).Volta (I actually really liked it, unfortunately my memory's a little hazy). ![]() A lot of people think it's a quiet album, but I find it very lively and emotive.) Vespertine (It sucks you in to such an amazing place, love it.Biophilia (Phenomenal concept, it seems boring at first but if you just sit back and listen, there's so much enjoyment). However, to discredit this album would be incredibly wrong.) Homogenic (It's Björk at her best, but it's not my #1.Probably the first album ever that's ever made me say that.) Post (I adore every song on this album. Please comment your list below! I want to see what your favourites are! (This is my opinion, just so you know, its not like I have the best music taste in the world) I'm going to rank all eight of her albums from my favourite to my least favourite. ![]()
